Speaker 1 00:00:05 Welcome to the Clear Impact Podcast, brought to you by pg t i University. Thanks for joining us today. My name is Sherry Connor and I am your host. Speaker 1 00:00:18 Good morning. We are here on the Clear Impact Podcast and we are being hosted by the wonderful folks at Western Window Systems this week. And today in our makeshift studio, we have Jason Sealy and good morning. Good morning. I'm so glad that you're here and hats off. Thank you so much. You have been so hospitable with us, uh, back in April when we visited, and then, you know, this week has just been amazing and, um, love that spirit of hospitality that you and your folks have provided to us. So thank you for helping arrange this and shoulder tapping some people and, uh, just making it possible for us to be here. Speaker 2 00:00:58 No problem. I'm glad you guys made it out. Speaker 1 00:01:00 Yeah, this has been fun. So, um, so we wanna just do some introductions as we're launching the Western products into the university system and, uh, becoming acquainted with the product line and, and some of the things that you guys do. Uh, but we wanna know a little bit about you. So give us a little bit of your background, your history, and then your roles and responsibilities today. Speaker 2 00:01:23 Yeah, so in the past I had a contracting company. I used to build custom homes up in the Pacific Northwest. Uh, I had a plumbing and heating company and also had a concrete finishing company. We did, uh, foundations, flatwork, et cetera. In 2015, I came over to Western. At that transition, I was the territory manager for Northern California, uh, outside sales. And then, uh, after a couple years, I was promoted to the regional sales manager for the West coast covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, and Hawaii. From there, my role has evolved into a sales director role, focusing on customer experience. Uh, I've been with the company now for about seven years. Speaker 1 00:02:06 Nice. And you live here in Phoenix? Speaker 2 00:02:08 Yep, I do live in Phoenix. Speaker 1 00:02:10 Tell us about your education. Speaker 2 00:02:12 High school graduate North Kitsap High School. From there went to Olympic College for a couple years, focused on business and then, uh, moved right into my construction career. Speaker 1 00:02:23 So your responsibilities now are for the customer experience, so what exactly does that cover? Speaker 2 00:02:28 Yeah, so I oversee the entire inside sales team. I am the liaison between customers, our partners, dealers, both internal and external customers, liaison between all departments. So my goal is to focus on enhancing our current processes, procedures, identifying areas of opportunity to improve or enhance our customer's experience and journey, and really just focus on getting better. Right. Speaker 1 00:02:57 I love that. So one of the things I, I love to ask executives and people who've had successful careers is about advice that they've received. So share with us a piece of valuable advice that you've received at some point. Speaker 2 00:03:08 Years ago when I first started into my entrepreneurial focus and starting my own companies and things like that, somebody had come to me and said, failure's not an option. So that has always stuck and resignated with me. So I utilize that on a day-to-day, and I have for years, failure's not an option. Focus on commitment, being fully engaged in what I do, communication, follow up, follow through. And at the end of the day, the most important thing I think is having fun, really enjoying what you do. Speaker 1 00:03:39 Nice. Yeah, I love that. I think Jim has mentioned that a time or two failure's not an option. I think I was like, I don't think we could do it. He's like, what? Oh no, that's not an option. Speaker 2 00:03:49 Yeah, Speaker 1 00:03:50 Yeah. Like, oh, okay. Speaker 2 00:03:51 You know, and and failure does happen. Right, right. But it gives you an opportunity to build off of it. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> identify why did we fail and how do we not fail in the future? So Speaker 1 00:04:00 Right. Well, you learn from everything, whether it's a win or a loss, you still learn. So sometimes some of us have to learn the hard way. Speaker 2 00:04:07 Absolutely. Speaker 1 00:04:08 <laugh>. So one last question, and you're probably more acquainted with what we're doing than some of the others. I've asked this of how do you see the university team becoming an asset to the Western family? Speaker 2 00:04:21 I've been an advocate of the pg t I university. Right. Worked with you hand in hand with you and your team. I think the biggest ROI on the university is minimizing service and sales, just overhead right Service as it pertains to installation aspect of the university. It's gonna minimize a lot of traffic coming through service. It'll minimize phone calls, emails, potential service technician visits. It'll allow our dealers to understand really, uh, a little bit better how to install and how to service the product of Western Windows systems. And then on the sales aspect, it will give us an opportunity to not only train our sales staff and team itself, but also to cascade that out to our dealers and partners and minimize their traffic going into the dealers, having to do PK sessions, be on site. You know, obviously that's always productive and helpful to have the sales team out there, but it gives the dealer an opportunity to do it at their own time, at their own pace and capture the majority of the message that's being sent and, and, you know, the product knowledge and things like that. And also create an opportunity for those folks to be certified, right. Officially certified, have a, a document that can hang on their wall and be a Western Windows systems champion. Speaker 1 00:05:44 Yeah. Well, you've absolutely been a big cheerleader for us and we're so excited to have this getting out there and getting launched. We're making a few adjustments as we speak, but by the time this airs it'll be fully up and, and we'll be making a lot of noise about that. And we were able to do some videos this week, and so Speaker 2 00:06:00 Yeah, that was exciting. That was really good to see. Finally, we talked about it for years and having Jim and Patrick come in and work with the team to start the initial installation videos is phenomenal. Uh, very excited about it and looking forward to the next steps. Speaker 1 00:06:14 Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Well, it's gonna be a great partnership going forward, and we're looking forward to having you guys come to Venice and see the new showroom, and we're excited about the next trip out, whenever that is. So likewise. Yeah. Thank you for your time, Jason. I, you got a lot going on this week and there's a bunch of architects here and all kinds of stuff happening, so yeah, Speaker 2 00:06:33 It's, it's a busy week at, uh, Western Windows Systems, but, you know, excited to have you guys here and appreciate you making the time to come out. Speaker 1 00:06:39 Awesome. Thank you so much. Have a great day. Thank you. All right. PG t i University is the customer education team for an entire family of brands.
